Surah 92 - The Night (Al-Layl)
وَٱلَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ
By the night when it covers،
— Transliteration
وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ
and the day when it shines
— Transliteration
وَمَا خَلَقَ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
And by the One Who created male and female
— Transliteration
إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ
Surely the ends you strive for are diverse
— Transliteration
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَٱتَّقَىٰ
As for the one who is charitable، mindful of Allah،
— Transliteration
وَصَدَّقَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
and firmly believes in the finest reward،
— Transliteration
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ
We will facilitate for them the Way of Ease
— Transliteration
وَأَمَّا مَنۢ بَخِلَ وَٱسْتَغْنَىٰ
And as for the one who is stingy، indifferent to Allah،
— Transliteration
وَكَذَّبَ بِٱلْحُسْنَىٰ
and staunchly denies the finest reward،
— Transliteration
فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُۥ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ
We will facilitate for them the path of hardship
— Transliteration
وَمَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُ مَالُهُۥٓ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰٓ
And their wealth will be of no benefit to them when they tumble into Hell
— Transliteration
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ
It is certainly upon Us alone to show the way to guidance
— Transliteration
وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْءَاخِرَةَ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
And surely to Us alone belong this life and the next
— Transliteration
فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًۭا تَلَظَّىٰ
And so I have warned you of a raging Fire،
— Transliteration
لَا يَصْلَىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلْأَشْقَى
in which none will burn except the most wretched
— Transliteration
ٱلَّذِى كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
who deny and turn away
— Transliteration
وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا ٱلْأَتْقَى
But the righteous will be spared from it
— Transliteration
ٱلَّذِى يُؤْتِى مَالَهُۥ يَتَزَكَّىٰ
who donate some of their wealth only to purify themselves،
— Transliteration
وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُۥ مِن نِّعْمَةٍۢ تُجْزَىٰٓ
not in return for someone\'s favours،
— Transliteration
إِلَّا ٱبْتِغَآءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
but seeking the pleasure of their Lord، the Most High
— Transliteration
وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ
They will certainly be pleased
— Transliteration
