Surah 75 - The Resurrection (Al-Qiyamah)

1
لَآ أُقْسِمُ بِيَوْمِ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
I do swear by the Day of Judgment
— Transliteration
2
وَلَآ أُقْسِمُ بِٱلنَّفْسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ
And I do swear by the self-reproaching soul
— Transliteration
3
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجْمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ
Do people think We cannot reassemble their bones?
— Transliteration
4
بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّىَ بَنَانَهُۥ
Yes indeed We are most capable of restoring even their very fingertips
— Transliteration
5
بَلْ يُرِيدُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفْجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ
Still people want to deny what is yet to come،
— Transliteration
6
يَسْـَٔلُ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ
asking mockingly، "When is this Day of Judgment?"
— Transliteration
7
فَإِذَا بَرِقَ ٱلْبَصَرُ
But when the sight is stunned،
— Transliteration
8
وَخَسَفَ ٱلْقَمَرُ
and the moon is dimmed،
— Transliteration
9
وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ
and the sun and the moon are brought together،
— Transliteration
10
يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ
on that Day one will cry، "Where is the escape?"
— Transliteration
11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ
But no There will be no refuge
— Transliteration
12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ
On that Day all will end up before your Lord
— Transliteration
13
يُنَبَّؤُا۟ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بِمَا قَدَّمَ وَأَخَّرَ
All will then be informed of what they have sent forth and left behind
— Transliteration
14
بَلِ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِۦ بَصِيرَةٌۭ
In fact، people will testify against their own souls،
— Transliteration
15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ
despite the excuses they come up with
— Transliteration
16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ
Do not rush your tongue trying to memorize a revelation of the Quran
— Transliteration
17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ
It is certainly upon Us to make you memorize and recite it
— Transliteration
18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ
So once We have recited a revelation through Gabriel، follow its recitation closely
— Transliteration
19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ
Then it is surely upon Us to make it clear to you
— Transliteration
20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ
But no In fact، you love this fleeting world،
— Transliteration
21
وَتَذَرُونَ ٱلْءَاخِرَةَ
and neglect the Hereafter
— Transliteration
22
وُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ نَّاضِرَةٌ
On that Day some faces will be bright،
— Transliteration
23
إِلَىٰ رَبِّهَا نَاظِرَةٌۭ
looking at their Lord
— Transliteration
24
وَوُجُوهٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۭ بَاسِرَةٌۭ
And other faces will be gloomy،
— Transliteration
25
تَظُنُّ أَن يُفْعَلَ بِهَا فَاقِرَةٌۭ
anticipating something devastating to befall them
— Transliteration
26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ
But no Beware of the day when the soul reaches the collar bone as it leaves،
— Transliteration
27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍۢ
and it will be said، "Is there any healer who can save this life?"
— Transliteration
28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ
And the dying person realizes it is their time to depart،
— Transliteration
29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ
and then their feet are tied together in a shroud
— Transliteration
30
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمَسَاقُ
On that day they will be driven to your Lord alone
— Transliteration
31
فَلَا صَدَّقَ وَلَا صَلَّىٰ
This denier neither believed nor prayed،
— Transliteration
32
وَلَٰكِن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ
but persisted in denial and turned away،
— Transliteration
33
ثُمَّ ذَهَبَ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِۦ يَتَمَطَّىٰٓ
then went to their own people، walking boastfully
— Transliteration
34
أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰ
Woe to you، and more woe
— Transliteration
35
ثُمَّ أَوْلَىٰ لَكَ فَأَوْلَىٰٓ
Again، woe to you، and even more woe
— Transliteration
36
أَيَحْسَبُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى
Do people think they will be left without purpose?
— Transliteration
37
أَلَمْ يَكُ نُطْفَةًۭ مِّن مَّنِىٍّۢ يُمْنَىٰ
Were they not once a sperm-drop emitted?
— Transliteration
38
ثُمَّ كَانَ عَلَقَةًۭ فَخَلَقَ فَسَوَّىٰ
Then they became a clinging clot of blood، then He developed and perfected their form،
— Transliteration
39
فَجَعَلَ مِنْهُ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰٓ
producing from it both sexes، male and female
— Transliteration
40
أَلَيْسَ ذَٰلِكَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يُحْۦِىَ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ
Is such a Creator unable to bring the dead back to life?
— Transliteration
