Surah 77 - The Emissaries (Al-Mursalat)

1

وَٱلْمُرْسَلَٰتِ عُرْفًۭا

By those winds sent forth successively،

— Transliteration

2

فَٱلْعَٰصِفَٰتِ عَصْفًۭا

and those blowing violently،

— Transliteration

3

وَٱلنَّٰشِرَٰتِ نَشْرًۭا

and those scattering rainclouds widely

— Transliteration

4

فَٱلْفَٰرِقَٰتِ فَرْقًۭا

And by those angels fully distinguishing truth from falsehood،

— Transliteration

5

فَٱلْمُلْقِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا

and those delivering revelation،

— Transliteration

6

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

ending excuses and giving warnings

— Transliteration

7

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ

Surely، what you are promised will come to pass

— Transliteration

8

فَإِذَا ٱلنُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

So when the stars are put out،

— Transliteration

9

وَإِذَا ٱلسَّمَآءُ فُرِجَتْ

and the sky is torn apart،

— Transliteration

10

وَإِذَا ٱلْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

and the mountains are blown away،

— Transliteration

11

وَإِذَا ٱلرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

and the messengers\' time to testify comes up

— Transliteration

12

لِأَىِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

for which Day has all this been set?

— Transliteration

13

لِيَوْمِ ٱلْفَصْلِ

For the Day of Final Decision

— Transliteration

14

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ

And what will make you realize what the Day of Decision is?

— Transliteration

15

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

16

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

Did We not destroy earlier disbelievers?

— Transliteration

17

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ

And We will make the later disbelievers follow them

— Transliteration

18

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ

This is how We deal with the wicked

— Transliteration

19

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

20

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ

Did We not create you from a humble fluid،

— Transliteration

21

فَجَعَلْنَٰهُ فِى قَرَارٍۢ مَّكِينٍ

placing it in a secure place

— Transliteration

22

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ

until an appointed time?

— Transliteration

23

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْقَٰدِرُونَ

We perfectly ordained its development How excellent are We in doing so

— Transliteration

24

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

25

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ ٱلْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

Have We not made the earth a lodging

— Transliteration

26

أَحْيَآءًۭ وَأَمْوَٰتًۭا

for the living and the dead،

— Transliteration

27

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَٰسِىَ شَٰمِخَٰتٍۢ وَأَسْقَيْنَٰكُم مَّآءًۭ فُرَاتًۭا

and placed upon it towering، firm mountains، and given you fresh water to drink?

— Transliteration

28

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

29

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ

The disbelievers will be told، "Proceed into that Fire which you used to deny

— Transliteration

30

ٱنطَلِقُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّۢ ذِى ثَلَٰثِ شُعَبٍۢ

Proceed into the shade of smoke which rises in three columns،

— Transliteration

31

لَّا ظَلِيلٍۢ وَلَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱللَّهَبِ

providing neither coolness nor shelter from the flames

— Transliteration

32

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِى بِشَرَرٍۢ كَٱلْقَصْرِ

Indeed، it hurls sparks as big as huge castles،

— Transliteration

33

كَأَنَّهُۥ جِمَٰلَتٌۭ صُفْرٌۭ

and as dark as black camels"

— Transliteration

34

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

35

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

On that Day they will not be in a position to speak،

— Transliteration

36

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

nor will they be permitted to offer excuses

— Transliteration

37

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

38

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَٰكُمْ وَٱلْأَوَّلِينَ

They will be told by Allah، "This is the Day of Final Decision: We have gathered you along with earlier disbelievers for punishment

— Transliteration

39

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌۭ فَكِيدُونِ

So if you have a scheme to save yourselves، then use it against Me"

— Transliteration

40

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

41

إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى ظِلَٰلٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ

Indeed، the righteous will be amid cool shade and springs

— Transliteration

42

وَفَوَٰكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

and any fruit they desire

— Transliteration

43

كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

They will be told، "Eat and drink happily for what you used to do"

— Transliteration

44

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ

Surely this is how We reward the good-doers

— Transliteration

45

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

But woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

46

كُلُوا۟ وَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ

"Eat and enjoy yourselves for a little while، for you are truly wicked"

— Transliteration

47

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

48

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱرْكَعُوا۟ لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

When it is said to them، "Bow down before Allah،" they do not bow

— Transliteration

49

وَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

Woe on that Day to the deniers

— Transliteration

50

فَبِأَىِّ حَدِيثٍۭ بَعْدَهُۥ يُؤْمِنُونَ

So what message after this Quran would they believe in?

— Transliteration
