Surah 88 - The Overwhelming (Al-Ghashiyah)
Has the news of the Overwhelming Event reached you O Prophet?
— Transliteration
On that Day some faces will be downcast،
— Transliteration
totally overburdened، exhausted،
— Transliteration
burning in a scorching Fire،
— Transliteration
left to drink from a scalding spring
— Transliteration
They will have no food except a foul، thorny shrub،
— Transliteration
neither nourishing nor satisfying hunger
— Transliteration
On that Day other faces will be glowing with bliss،
— Transliteration
fully pleased with their striving،
— Transliteration
in an elevated Garden،
— Transliteration
where no idle talk will be heard
— Transliteration
In it will be a running spring،
— Transliteration
along with thrones raised high،
— Transliteration
and cups set at hand،
— Transliteration
and fine cushions lined up،
— Transliteration
and splendid carpets spread out
— Transliteration
Do they not ever reflect on camelshow they were masterfully created;
— Transliteration
and the skyhow it was raised high;
— Transliteration
and the mountainshow they were firmly set up;
— Transliteration
and the earthhow it was levelled out?
— Transliteration
So، continue to remind all، O Prophet، for your duty is only to remind
— Transliteration
You are not there to compel them to believe
— Transliteration
But whoever turns away، persisting in disbelief،
— Transliteration
then Allah will inflict upon them the major punishment
— Transliteration
Surely to Us is their return،
— Transliteration
then surely with Us is their reckoning
— Transliteration
